L'emploi contre la diarrhée, les douleurs d'estomac (uniquement pour celles causées par les parasites intestinaux : ascaris, oxyures et ankylostomes) est classé REC sur la base de l'emploi significatif traditionnel documenté par les enquêtes TRAMIL, les études de toxicité et de l'information scientifique publiée.

En aucun cas la forme de préparation ni la dose ne doivent être modifiées.

En cas de diarrhée, cet usage est considéré comme complémentaire à la réhydratation orale.

Si la diarrhée persiste plus de 2 jours ou si l’état du patient se détériore (déshydratation avec langue sèche, pli cutané persistant, oligurie ou pleurs sans larmes) consulter un médecin immédiatement.

Si l'état du patient se détériore ou si les douleurs d'estomac durent plus de 3 jours chez l'adulte, et plus de 2 jours chez l'enfant de plus de 5 ans, consulter un médecin.

Cet emploi est contre-indiqué chez des individus atteints d'affections hépatiques, d’insuffisance rénale18, ainsi que chez les personnes affaiblies ou âgées.

L'emploi contre les ulcères de la peau est classé REC sur la base de l'usage significatif traditionnel documenté par les enquêtes TRAMIL, les travaux de toxicité et de l'information scientifique publiée.

Si l’état du patient se détériore ou si l'ulcère persiste pendant plus de 5 jours, consulter un médecin.

Concernant l'usage contre les ulcères de la peau, il convient de se conformer à de strictes mesures d'hygiène pour empêcher la contamination ou une surinfection.

Ne pas employer avec des enfants de moins de 5 ans, ni avec des femmes allaitantes ou enceintes (car peut provoquer un avortement).

Contre la diarrhée ou les douleurs d'estomac causées par les parasites intestinaux (ascaris, oxyures et ankylostomes) :

Préparer une décoction ou une infusion avec 7 grammes de parties aériennes (feuille, fleur et tige) dans un peu plus d'1 tasse (250 millilitres). Pour la décoction, faire bouillir pendant 5 minutes dans un récipient couvert; pour l'infusion, verser l'eau bouillante sur les 7 grammes de parties aériennes, couvrir et laisser reposer pendant 10 minutes. Dans les deux cas, filtrer et boire 1 tasse (250 millilitres) pour un adulte, 1/2 tasse (125 millilitres) pour des personnes de 35 kilo et 1/3 de tasse (80 millilitres) pour des enfants de plus de 5 ans. Prendre 1 fois par jour pendant 3 jours consécutifs53 et ne pas renouveler ce traitement avant 6 mois.

Il est recommandé de prendre un laxatif salin (par exemple sulfate de magnésium) après la première prise, mais il ne faut pas utiliser de laxatif huileux18.

Contre les ulcères cutanés :

Laver la lésion avec de l'eau bouillie et du savon. Laver soigneusement les parties aériennes de la plante, les broyer ou les écraser et appliquer sur la zone affectée. Recouvrir d'un linge propre et changer 2 fois par jour.

Toute préparation médicinale doit être conservée au froid et utilisée dans les 24 heures.

A cause du risque d’hépatotoxicité documentée des alcaloïdes pyrrolizidiniques, son utilisation par voie orale doit être limitée à un maximum de 2 jours chez l’adulte2-3.

Ne pas employer avec des femmes enceintes ou allaitantes ni avec des enfants de moins de 12 ans.

Contre les douleurs d’estomac :
Préparer une décoction avec 4 feuilles fraîches dans 1 tasse (250 millilitres) d’eau, faire bouillir 5 minutes dans un récipient couvert. Laisser refroidir, filtrer et boire 1 tasse, 3 fois par jour1 un maximum de 2 jours.

Toute préparation médicinale doit être conservée au froid et utilisée dans les 24 heures.

L’emploi contre les douleurs d’estomac, les douleurs abdominales et les flatulences est classé REC sur la base de l’usage significatif traditionnel documenté par les enquêtes TRAMIL, les études de validation, de toxicité et l’information scientifique publiée.

Si l’état du patient se détériore ou si les douleurs d’estomac persistent au-delà de 3 jours, consulter un médecin.

L’emploi contre les douleurs d’oreille est classé REC sur la base de l’usage significatif traditionnel documenté par les enquêtes TRAMIL et les études de toxicité.

Les douleurs d’oreille risquant d’être dues à une otite moyenne ou interne, on recommande de consulter un médecin au préalable. Son utilisation est contre-indiquée en présence de sécrétions dans l’oreille et/ou d’une éventuelle perforation du tympan.

Toute application dans l’oreille doit se conformer aux plus strictes mesures d’hygiène, pour empêcher la contamination ou une infection surajoutée.

Si l’état du patient se détériore ou si les douleurs d’oreille durent plus de 2 jours, consulter un médecin.

Ne pas employer avec des enfants de moins de 3 ans, ni avec des femmes enceintes ou allaitantes.

La graine peut provoquer des réactions d’hypersensibilité.

La feuille de Foeniculum vulgare constitue un aliment de consommation humaine relativement répandue et la graine, une source industrielle d’huile essentielle.

Contre les douleurs d’estomac, les douleurs abdominales ou les flatulences :
Préparer une décoction avec 0,3-0,6 grammes de graines séchées ou 3-5 grammes de feuilles fraîches dans 1 tasse (250 mL) d’eau, faire bouillir 10 minutes dans un récipient couvert. Filtrer, laisser refroidir et boire 1 tasse 3 fois par jour26-27.

Contre les douleurs d’oreille :
Laver soigneusement les feuilles, les écraser et instiller 2 gouttes du jus obtenu dans l'oreille affectée 2 ou 3 fois par jour.

Toute préparation médicinale doit être conservée au froid et utilisée dans les 24 heures.

Contre les maux de tête :
Préparer une décoction avec 7-8 feuilles fraîches (2 grammes) dans 2 tasses (500 millilitres) d'eau, faire bouillir pendant 10 minutes dans un récipient ouvert. Laisser refroidir, filtrer et boire 1 tasse, 2 fois par jour pendant un maximum de 2 jours1.

Contre les douleurs d’estomac :
Préparer une décoction avec 15 grammes de racine dans 4 tasses (1 litre) d'eau; faire bouillir pendant 10 minutes dans un récipient couvert. Laisser refroidir, filtrer et boire 1 tasse 15 minutes avant chaque repas.

Toute préparation médicinale doit être conservée au froid et utilisée dans les 24 heures.

Si l’état du patient se détériore, ou si les maux d’estomac persistent plus de 3 jours, les troubles nerveux, l’anxiété ou l’insomnie durent plus de 7 jours, consulter un médecin.

Ne pas utiliser conjointement à des anticoagulants ni chez des patients souffrant de troubles de la circulation. Ne pas utiliser avant la conduite de véhicule ou l'utilisation de machine à cause de son activité sédative.

L’emploi topique contre coups et entorse est classé REC sur la base de l’usage significatif traditionnel documenté par les enquêtes TRAMIL et les études de toxicité.

Si l’état du patient se détériore, ou si les symptômes de coups et entorse persistent plus de 7 jours, consulter un médecin.

Toute application locale doit se conformer à de strictes mesures d’hygiène, pour empêcher la contamination ou une infection supplémentaire.

Ne pas employer avec des femmes enceintes ou allaitantes, ni avec des enfants de moins de 5 ans.

Contre les coups ou les entorses :
Laver la plante entière fraîche ou les feuilles, piler-froisser, appliquer une quantité suffisante pour couvrir la zone affectée. Couvrir avec une compresse ou un linge propre et répéter 4 fois par jour.

Contre les maux d’estomac, nervosité, anxiété ou insomnie :
Préparer une décoction ou une infusion avec 5-10 grammes de feuilles ou de parties aériennes dans 1 tasse (250 millilitres) d’eau. En cas de décoction faire bouillir 5 minutes dans un récipient couvert. Pour l’infusion, ajouter l’eau bouillante et recouvrir. Laisser refroidir, filtrer et boire une tasse 2-4 fois par jour ou au moment des symptomes.

Toute préparation médicinale doit être conservée au froid et utilisée dans les 24 heures.

L’emploi contre les coliques, la diarrhée, les douleurs d’estomac, les règles douloureuses et l'élimination des lochies après l’accouchement est classé REC sur la base de l’usage significatif traditionnel documenté par les enquêtes TRAMIL, les études de toxicité, de validation et l’information scientifique publiée.

En cas de diarrhée, ce remède est considéré comme complémentaire de la thérapie de réhydratation orale.

Si on observe chez le patient atteint de diarrhée une déshydratation avec langue sèche, pli cutané persistant, oligurie ou pleurs sans larmes, consulter un médecin immédiatement. Si la diarrhée dure plus de 3 jours chez un adulte ou plus d’un jour chez un enfant, consulter un médecin.

Si l’état du patient se détériore, ou si les coliques ou les douleurs d’estomac durent plus de 3 jours ou les rêgles douloureuses plus de 7 jours, consulter un médecin.

Le pollen est potentiellement allergisant et peut induire des réactions d’hypersensibilité chez certaines personnes.

Ne pas employer avec des femmes enceintes ou allaitantes, ni avec des enfants de moins de 3 ans.

Contre coliques, diarrhée ou élimination des lochies :
Préparer une décoction avec 30 grammes de plante entière dans 4 tasses (1 litre) d’eau, faire bouillir 5 minutes dans un récipient couvert. Laisser refroidir, filtrer et boire 1 tasse 3 fois par jour.

Contre les règles douloureuses ou les douleurs d’estomac :
Préparer une infusion, en ajoutant 4 tasses (1 litre) d’eau bouillante à 30 grammes de plante entière ou de feuille. Couvrir le récipient, laisser reposer, filtrer et boire 1 tasse 3 fois par jour.

Selon l’information disponible :

L’emploi contre la diarrhée, les maux d’estomac, la flatulence, l’indigestion, la grippe, le rhume et les vomissements est classé REC sur la base de l’usage significatif traditionnel documenté par les enquêtes TRAMIL, les études de toxicité et l’information scientifique publiée.

En cas de diarrhée, ce remède est considéré comme complémentaire de la thérapie de réhydratation orale.

Si on observe chez le patient atteint de diarrhée une déshydratation avec langue sèche, pli cutané persistant, oligurie ou pleurs sans larmes, consulter un médecin immédiatement. Si la diarrhée dure plus de 3 jours chez un adulte ou plus d’un jour chez un enfant, consulter un médecin.

Si l’état du patient se détériore, ou si les maux d’estomac ou l’indigestion durent plus de 3 jours, la grippe plus de 7 jours ou encore si les vomissements persistent au-delà de 2 jours, consulter un médecin.

Eviter son ingestion en cas d’affections de la vésicule biliaire, de calculs10 et en cas de prise de médicaments antiacides ou réduisant le pH stomacal comme les inhibiteurs de protons à cause du risque d’interaction11.

Ne pas employer avec des femmes enceintes ou allaitantes, ni avec des enfants de moins de 5 ans.

La feuille de Mentha spicata est un condiment de consommation humaine relativement répandue et Mentha piperita constitue une source industrielle d’huile essentielle.

Contre les douleurs d’estomac :
Préparer une infusion en ajoutant 1 tasse (250 millilitres) d’eau bouillante à 10-15 grammes de feuilles. Couvrir le récipient, laisser reposer 5 minutes et filtrer.

Contre la diarrhée, la flatulence, l’indigestion, la grippe, le rhume ou les vomissements :
Préparer une décoction ou une infusion avec 10-15 grammes de feuilles dans 1 tasse (250 millilitres) d’eau. Pour la décoction, faire bouillir 5 minutes dans un récipient couvert. Pour l’infusion, ajouter l’eau bouillante aux 10-15 grammes de feuilles et couvrir le récipient. Laisser reposer 5 minutes et filtrer.

Dans tous les cas, boire 1 tasse 2-4 fois par jour, ou prendre 1 tasse aux moments requis par l’indication symptomatique35-36.

Toute préparation médicinale doit être conservée au froid et utilisée dans les 24 heures.

L’emploi contre les douleurs d’oreille, les maux d’estomac et les vomissements est classé REC sur la base de l’emploi significatif traditionnel documenté par les enquêtes TRAMIL et l’information scientifique publiée.

Les douleurs d’oreille risquant d’être dues à une otite moyenne ou interne, il est recommandé de consulter un médecin au préalable. Son emploi est contre-indiqué en présence de sécrétions à l’intérieur de l’oreille et/ou d’une éventuelle perforation du tympan.

Toute application dans l’oreille doit se conformer aux plus strictes mesures d’hygiène, afin d’éviter la contamination ou une infection supplémentaire.

Si l’état du patient se détériore, si les douleurs d’oreille ou les vomissements durent plus de 2 jours, ou si les maux d’estomac durent plus de 3 jours, consulter un médecin.

Ne pas employer avec des enfants de moins de 5 ans, ni avec des femmes enceintes ou allaitantes.

Les feuilles d’Ocimum basilicum constituent un condiment de consommation humaine relativement répandu.

Contre les maux d’estomac et les vomissements :
Préparer une infusion en versant 2 tasses (½ litre) d’eau bouillante sur 15 grammes de feuilles fraîches. Couvrir le récipient, laisser reposer et filtrer. Boire 1 tasse 3 fois par jour ou au moment requis par l’indication symptomatique25.

Contre les douleurs d’oreille :
Laver soigneusement la feuille, la froisser et constituer une boulette à introduire dans le conduit auditif externe, 2 à 3 fois par jour.

Toute préparation médicinale doit être conservée au froid et utilisée dans les 24 heures.

L’emploi contre les douleurs d’estomac et les flatulences est classé REC sur la base de l’emploi significatif traditionnel documenté par les enquêtes TRAMIL et l’information scientifique publiée.

Etant donné les risques d'interaction documentées avec les hypoglycémiants, antihypertenseurs et barbituriques, éviter la consommation de la décoction de feuille chez les personnes prenant ces médicaments.

Si l’état du patient se détériore ou si les douleurs d’estomac durent plus de 3 jours, consulter un médecin.

Ne pas employer avec des femmes enceintes ou allaitantes, ni avec des enfants de moins de 8 ans.

Contre les douleurs d’estomac, gaz, ballonnements :
Préparer une décoction avec 30 grammes de feuilles dans 4 tasses (1 litre) d’eau, faire bouillir 5 minutes dans un récipient couvert. Laisser refroidir, filtrer et boire 1 tasse 3 fois par jour.

Toute préparation médicinale doit être conservée au froid et utilisée dans les 24 heures.
